Abstract:
Generates a subset of hourly data for a chosen variable from the local projections for RCP8.5 for 1980 to 2080. Only absolute values are available.

Warning:
Before using this product, please read the UKCP18 Guidance on Caveats and Limitations as well as the conditions of us under the Open Government Licence. We recommend that you consider results from more than one 5km grid box, i.e. you should also consider surrounding grid boxes. This will provide a more robust estimate of climate change in your local area. As stated in the guidance, the 2.2km projections sample a narrower range of uncertainty than the global and probabilistic projections, and so changes for individual locations in the Local (2.2km) projections should be put in the context of results from the other UKCP products. You may find some near-zero values of the order of 1e-11, these should be treated as zero as it's within rounding error.

Please note that so far, testing has showed that subdaily data can take several hours to retrieve.

Area Area UKCP Local (2.2km) provides the most spatially detailed picture of future climate for the mainland UK. However, due to the proximity of the Shetland Isles to the northern boundary of the model domain used for these projections, data produced here is not reliable and should not be used. This is because at the edge of the model domain the projections are influenced by the techniques required to drive the model at its boundaries, which prevent Local (2.2km) from developing its own climatology over Shetland. We do not include these grid cells to calculate the regional average for Scotland, Orkney and Shetland and North Scotland. map item False
