Plot: Plume of time series of probabilistic projections of climate extremes (25km) over UK, 1961-2100

Abstract:

Generates a plume plot of seasonal time series of probabilistic projections of climate extermes for one variable. Results are available as absolute future values (rather than changes/anomalies) for a given emissions scenario, return period, season, time range and 25km grid cell. The typical plume shows the 5th, 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, 90th and 95th percentiles for the chosen emissions scenario. The data incorporates a bias correction that ensures consistency with observed return levels for the baseline period of 1981-2000.

User Guide:

The results are suitable for analysis of extremes at specific 25km grid squares, but not for analysis of joint risks at spatially distributed locations. If you're interested in spatially distributed analysis, or other types of extreme event, suitable climate model data can be obtained from other UKCP products. (i.e. UKCP Global, UKCP Regional and UKCP Local. For guidance on the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) and how to interpret the plots, please see the guidance pages.
